Vacation quotes

  • We finally had a vacation last week of May. My parents and sisters came to visit for a whole week. The Manila Ocean Park was our first stop, then we went to see Mall of Asia and then off to Baguio for about 3 days, we spent the Hubs' birthday there. We then stayed in a Makati hotel for 3 days, 2 nights.

It was always great to spend time with family. We talked about so many things. And came to know the following:
  • My second sister gets very cranky when she's hungry! haha

  • My son does really have a great memory! He can remember road signs and can now definitely read :)
  • My Mom is getting old. But she likes to take vacations still, while she still can move about

  • My youngest sister can be spoiled but she can be kind too. And she adores my son to bits.

  • My hubs didn't grow up to have his family spend time like we do... and he's slowly liking the way we bond

and oh, got a few quotes from our mini vacation:

  • My son said this while spelling the wrapper of my crackers: "R-E-B-I-S-C-O, crackers!" Nice try little bugoy :D

  • We were discussing Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston and why Brad Pitt choose Angelina. I turned to the hubs and asked him who he would pick. He said "Carina" (that's me) which he got a "Cheesy" from my sisters :P

  • My youngest sister asked my other sister what do the people from Pampanga call themselves, to which my other sister without batting an eyelash answered "Pampangasians!"

  • Again, my second sister said that the rice from a restaurant we just ate at was like "NPA rice"

  • My son says this when he takes our picture "Look at me, smile!" quite like the grow up

I wish our vacation was longer. Hubs and I had to drag ourselves to work the following Tuesday, we actually had to take Monday off. Now we are back to reality, back to work. Until the next vacation in August :)

Happy Birthday D!

I hope you really did enjoy your birthday... I know it was not ideal as you were doing "serbisyo publiko". But I know that just being together, spending the day together is always a treat. I love you!

It's the end of summer as we know it

Summer has officially ended, by the last week of April. Imagine that? We seriously need to think about Global warming.

I hate skipping a good sunny day at the beach. Crossing my fingers and praying for a trip to the beach soon! Please.

Pacman is really D MAN!

What a sight! Hatton didn't know what hit him, well, he probably did... Surely wasn't expecting such a quick fight. Congrats Pacquiao! Wooooohoooo!

Since I'm still figuring how to upload a video from youtube.com, please go here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxfHWTETT_o

Late bloomer

I grew up watching my Mom and my Aunts do their make-up before they head out the door. I found the process enthralling, I would hang out my Mom's room while she does her face, watching her every move. I liked to witness her transformation, from plain Mama to a nicely made-up working Mama.

The whole process though I found tedious. When I started working and could officially wear make-up, I just didn't had any interest in make-up. Sometimes I would do face powder or lipstick. But most of the time, I would face the world without anything on my face.

That is until about 6 months ago. I started really liking this face powder by Maybeline. And then my friend gave me a really nice make-up brush from Body Shop for my birthday. When I was in HK last February, I killed time in Sasa. They have really interesting make-up and everything that went with it. I ended up buying a set of eye shadow and liquid eye liner. A good friend is my personal supplier of make-up, she's been giving me lipstick, lip shine and recently eye shadow.

Now I enjoy the process of putting on make-up. I only have one nice brush though, and would really love to win this from http://beautyforaliving.blogspot.com/.

I read in one article (totally forgot from where) that even when the world is experiencing recession, lipstick sales are still up. It goes to show that in depressing times, there's more reason to put on make-up. I personally find myself feeling better after I put on make-up. Somehow it lifts my spirit, probably because it helps to feel beautiful in these trying times.

Before time stops tomorrow

It's the eve before the Pacquiao-Hatton fight and we're about ready as we can be. There's a live telecast in a nearby hotel and the hubs got his ticket already. For P500, he watches the game live, with free beer and food. Not bad, I think. ShangriLa Makati offers P1,200 for the live coverage and buffet food.

I'm staying put though, I'll live without watching it live.... unlike the hubs hehe! I'd just wait for the delayed telecast like the rest of the Filipinos.

We usually hear the 10am mass at our church. The fight's just about the same time, so we'll have to hear mass tomorrow afternoon. I can just imagine even our priest wouldn't want to celebrate the mass at 10! By 10am tomorrow, streets will be deserted, all Filipinos would be stuck in front of their TVs, rooting and praying for Pacman. I know I would be.

Good luck Pacman! The whole nation is already very proud of you. Just don't run for congress hehe!
